The Consultation Procedure

If you are wondering if your pet needs surgery, our consultation process is simple: either call or set up an appointment with our online form to start the process. The consultation will take roughly 20–40 minutes, where we meet your furry family member to see what the issue might be. We will collect all the information we can, including a collection of records if needed. We might need to run diagnostic tests to verify information. If you choose to proceed with the procedure, we run a bloodwork test to verify your pet is healthy for surgery, and then schedule the procedure for 2–4 weeks after consultation.

Before Surgery

A day or two before surgery, we email the surgical estimate to you. Around this time, a technician will also call you to answer any questions or concerns in relation to the surgery.

Day of Surgery

On the day of the surgery, we ask that you drop your pet off in the morning. We will walk you through our process, confirm contact info, and provide a rough time for pickup. The tech will take a little one-on-one time with your pet to get to know them and calm them a little before the procedure. This technician will be your pet’s dedicated helper for the entire procedure, from drop-off to pickup.

During the procedure, we administer medications to your pet to ease the process, including painkillers and anesthesia if needed, while the technician monitors your pet’s vitals consistently throughout.

Surgical Aftercare

After the procedure, once your pet is alert and awake, the technician calls you for pickup. Even after your pet is awake, this technician monitors your pet’s vital signs and makes sure they’re comfy until you arrive.

A technician will send you and your pet home with care instructions specific to your pet's needs and any medications necessary to keep them comfortable at home.
